Sun State Nursery & Landscaping grew out of a legacy family retail and wholesale nursery business on the west side of Jacksonville, FL. In 1977, the nursery business added landscape services and sod distribution, laying the foundations for Sun State as we know it today. Commercial landscape installation, hardscape services and commercial landscape maintenance offerings soon followed.

Clients notice when a team genuinely cares about the details. At Sun State, that care is reflected in the quality of our plant material, the precision of our installations, the responsiveness of our team, and the lasting relationships we build with our clients.
Since founding the company, Paul Kassab has instilled two core values that continue to define Sun State’s culture: Good Measure and the Pursuit of Excellence.
Good Measure represents our commitment to exceeding customer expectations. It means going beyond the requirements and specifications of a project, taking the extra steps that make a difference, and consistently delivering more than what is expected.
Pursuit of Excellence reflects our belief that excellence is a continuous journey. It challenges every member of our team to grow personally and professionally, continually improve their skills, take pride in their work, and strive to provide the highest level of service to our clients and the communities we serve.
Together, these two values reflect Paul’s founding philosophy and remain at the heart of how Sun State operates today—guiding our people, shaping our relationships, and defining the quality of our work.
Your successful commercial landscaping project starts and ends with the environment we create together. Everything that happens in between is where Sun State Landscaping adds value.
